Summer berries, fresh whipped cream, and vanilla cake

That is what we crave in the heat.  Nature provides these gorgeous berries throughout the season.   Combine that with a simple vanilla cake and whipped cream to add the sensation of full-bodied flavor, sweetness and texture.

The one, two, threes…it is that easy.

One.

Bake your favorite vanilla cake (boxed cake mix for quick and simple).  Sheet cakes work best and are easiest to serve.

Two.

Rinse and prep your berries, removing any stems, leaves or overripe fruits.  I like to add a touch of sugar to coat the berries adding a hint of extra sweetness.  Honey or agave work great too.

Three.

If possible, hand whip fresh cream….so decadent and indulgent.

Assemble beautifully up to two hours before serving. Must remain refrigerated until you’re all ready to dive in and smile.

Happy summer eating!
