December holidays, no matter what belief system you hold dear, mark the nearing of another years end. This is the best time to pause and reflect on the past years highlights. Good and bad, tears and laughs often come out from us at these times of reflection. A warm soothing cup of tea and a dancing fire in the fireplace can allow us the safe environment to explore the emotions and memories. I love to sit close to the fire, warming my feet and just feel life flow over me and thru me.
What dreams we may have for next year?
A comfortable meal like, meatloaf, mashed potatoes and peas with a warm apple bread pudding adds to this journey of reflection on life. Food always makes us feel complete.
Gratitude for those we love and who love us. I have a friend who each year makes a list of things she hopes for in the coming year, she seals it and opens it each New Year’s Eve. I tried it only once, it’s incredible how each year brings its own unexpected journey. Trusting that there will be good time and some tough times but each step of the way, we will have love and give love. That is being full in our human experience.
This creates the magic of the holiday season.
